Yoga Challenge❣️

I l❤️ve it for self care! It's not only great for loosening up your tight muscles and increasing tone, it is excellent for relaxing the mind and eating stress. The mind body connection you is essential in creating a healthy, calmer, more balanced life.

That being said I'm terrible at keeping up my yoga practice even though I know it will help me live a longer and happier life. So in my efforts to be happier and healthier I'm starting another 30 days of yoga challenge. I found Yoga with Adriene on YouTube and enjoy her using her videos. Check her out! I've started both the 30 days of yoga and the yoga camp series of her videos a few times but have yet to finish either one ๐Ÿ˜•This time I'm determined to complete 30 days straight of yoga!! I must admit with moving and dealing with all of lives other tasks such as; school and sports activities, community events, and relaxation time, I haven't been the best at keeping up with my own self care. I've been eating poorly and not exercising. We are getting all settled into our new home and with less of a commute it is harder to find excuses not too, I should be practicing what I peach anyways.. So thanks to Wyatt for getting me up to do the four minute workout and not having any appointments till 11, I decided I could do my typical Web surfing routine while walking around the track! Followed by a warm dead sea salt soak and I'm feeling ready for an excellent week! Why it's important to have consistent treatments.

Many people want to treat going to see their massage therapist like going to see their doctors. They want to do it once a year and get things worked out, but massage doesn't work that way. They are quickly back with the same aches and pains they always have. Sound familiar? If you want to be someone who really gets the most out of their massage therapy, getting regular massages is the only way to realize the full potential of massage for your health and wellness.

Massage is magic✨I often say this due to the many therapeutic benefits from both relaxation and deep tissue treatments. The magic gets stronger the more often you have a massage, and the health benefits become more tangible after repeated sessions. However, if you're going in for deeper therapeutic sessions only once a year, or worse, every three years, and expecting lasting results, both you and your therapist are going to be frustrated.

After an injury or accident, or just due to prolonged stress, your muscles build up lactic acid and start to ossify. Ossification is when the muscles start to turn hard and almost bone like. Deep tissue therapeutic massages can help counteract this process, if not even completely fix it, however it will take consistent actions to fix it.

You can't just get a massage once in a while. You wouldn't go to the gym one time to lift weights and expect yourself to be all bulked up and ripped out. The same goes for relaxing the muscles and releasing the tension. We accumulate stress and tension in our muscle with our every day busy lives. Our posture and stress levels definitely effect our bodies on a daily basis. While we can't get massages daily, we can help our bodies heal by giving them regular deep tissue treatments.

Regularly receiving therapeutic massages to the problem areas will increase blood and oxygen flow to the muscles, allowing the muscles to help heal themselves. Massage can physically release the lactic acid from the muscles, breaking up unhealthy muscle tissue and allowing it to heal.

When I see you regularly, it allows me to get to know you and your body structure better. It allows both of us to become more comfortable with some of the deeper techniques in more uncomfortable but definitely important areas like the pecs and in between the ribs. This comfort and these techniques are where deeper tissue massages become more effective.

☀️Happy Summer Solstice☀️
The longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice is one of my favorite days! I enjoy teasing my friends and family about my naked fairy dancing rituals, which aren't actually practiced, just a fun way to mess with them ๐Ÿ˜„ Now I know I'm a day late but I was too busy soaking up every last bit of sun in the day that I could! I mowed my lawn and worked on my garden! And found this big beautiful butterfly enjoying my potted plants.

Monday Meditations ๐Ÿ™Œ

Today's meditation time is a fun light hearted way to clear your mind and relax! Coloring!!! I've been enjoying this simple relaxation technique lately and think you should try it out also!

We know Meditation is good for us but do you know it's powerful benefits?!

I'm a big fan of meditation, I've used it for years to help improve my moods and stress levels. My mom taught me to use it when I was a teenager after my parents divorce. It helped me get through that difficult time in my life and ever since then I've personally experienced the benefits of meditation.

Meditation has been proven to reduce levels of the "stress hormone" cortisol. This is huge! Stress is a major factor in most illnesses. Spending ten mindful minutes a day keeps your immune system running better by increasing your body's ability to ward off illness and infection. The decrease in stress promotes mindful snacking and healthy eating choices meaning meditation can also help you lose weight. Stress eating is a problem that could easily be fixed by instead focusing on our breathing and calming our minds rather than grabbing a snack. Meditation can help you feel less overwhelmed and fight fatigue. It helps you detach from all our modern distractions while giving you a feeling of renewed energy. Meditation can also improve your sleep! It will help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up feeling more overall rested. With all the growing scientific evidence of the benefits of meditation, why wouldn't you incorporate it into your self-care routine?!

It's strawberry festival time and we enjoyed judging the floats earlier this morning before having pancakes at the Lebanon, Oregon Optimist breakfast! I'm grateful to live in Beautiful Lebanon, Oregon where it's been sunny and warm today. I'm grateful for my healthy kids and sweet boyfriend. I'm grateful for the health and happiness for the rest of our family as well. I'm grateful for my wonderful clients who help me fulfill my passion of practicing deep tissue massage. Random Road trip ๐Ÿš—

We woke up and decided to go to Medford for In and Out Burger because the boys and I have never been and Wyatt insisted it was a must! So after talking a walk and doing some yoga, we got some books and Slurpees and headed south for an adventure! We are almost there and couldn't be more excited!! ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŸ It's nice to get out of Lebanon and take a break from all those deep tissue massages I did last week to enjoy some time with my kids and boyfriend!

Don't you agree?! I always feel so good after having a massage. Hey, it's a beautiful day here in Lebanon, Oregon I'm glad to have a day off from doing massage. Today I've been thinking about Something I often struggle with is; positive self talk. Lately I've personally been on a new self love mission. I often give other people respect and kindness quite freely but am harsh on myself. I'm working on keeping my thoughts about myself positive. It's always easier for me to keep up my positive self talk if I'm also keeping up with my self-care. Getting monthly deep tissue massages, taking detox baths weekly, and making sure I'm getting plenty of sleep are some of the ways I take care of myself. What are you doing to take care of yourself?
